After having the biggest song of the summer with Blurred Lines, the expectations are high for Robin Thicke. His second release is titled, Give It To U, and features 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar and although this is a far less controversial video and song then Blurred Lines, they do share some similarities.
There's the infamous red writing which flashes on the screen quite a few times, there are two rappers who feature on the track, there are scantily clad women prancing around Robin and the lyrics remain sexual and cheeky.
It's unfortunate that Robin has veered away from his original sound which was an old schoo R'n'B sound - far more sensual and vocal-based - that often saw him compared to Justin Timberlake and R Kelly; however, his music now falls into the catchy and fun yet a little bit cheesy category.
The song is something we have heard many times before from urban male artists and the video is not that original or special either....I doubt Robin will have as much success with this track.
