New Video : Ariana Grande

Arian has been teasing pictures of this new video for a couple of weeks and now it has arrived. The song Problem is already a massive hit so the video really doesn't have to do much other than be mildly entertaining, and that it is. With appearances from Iggy Azalea and Big Sean, who both feature on the track, and a cute 60's chic vibe in the girls' looks and the video concept, it is a pleasant video. Not as exciting or visually appealing as I had hoped but still take a look for yourself below...

Introducing: Pia Mia

Pia is a little 17 year old with a big voice which got her millions of views on Youtube and a record deal with Interscope. Her start came courtesy of appearances on Keeping up with the Kardashians as a close friend of Kylie Jenner. Now the fashionista is dropping her music in anticipation of her debut album set to be released later this year.

New Video : Jason Derulo

Jason Derulo is back with another hit on his hands and just in time for summer. Wiggle featuring Snoop Dogg is an annoyingly catchy club track and feels like a follow-up for Talk Dirty, and now it has a video.
Check it out below !

New Music : Nicki Minaj

Nicki released the first single off her highly-anticipated third album this morning and it's a pretty love anthem, very reminiscent of Moment For Life.
The simplicity and honesty of Pills N Potions reflects the image change Nicki has undergone over the past few months and could be a sign of what to expect when the album drops. Could Nicki be heading back to her mix-tape days? Either way, I am a fan of this song and there will be a major album review when The Pink Print drops later this year.

#WCW: Iggy Azalea

New Music : Jazmine Sullivan

After a four year break, R'n'B saviour Jazmine Sullivan has returned with the first single off her upcoming album and it's a killer. Dumb features Meek Mill and is a perfect mix of the Jazmine we know and love with a little bit of something new and up to date.

New Music : Danity Kane

Slowly but surely DK are dropping new music in anticipation for their comeback album this year. This new track, which features Tyga, is catchy and showcases the girls in today's music scene - less R'n'B/pop and more hood hip-hop. It's called Lemonade and it's a very promising start.

New Video : Rough Copy Debut !

The best thing to come out of X Factor 2013 was undoubtedly R'n'B London-based group, Rough Copy, who left the competition far too early.
But maybe winning the X Factor is more of a curse than a blessing as the boys would probably have been subjected to cheesy dance moves and even cheesier pop songs under Simon's watch.
Luckily Rough Copy have signed a deal with Epic Records and their debut single Street Love showcases the bands potential as a credible group. The video is a bit dull and the verses aren't instantly captivating; however, thanks to the stunning lyrics from Anita Baker's classic Sweet Love the boys have pulled off a good track. It helps that they can sing and look good too.
Can't wait to hear more from the album which drops later this year.

New Video : Eminem

On Mother's Day (not the same date as the UK), Eminem appropriately dropped his new video for Headlights. It is a nice change of pace for the often violent and angry rapper who has never been too kind about his mother on previous albums but it seems that sobriety and maturity has done Em well.
In this video, shown through the eyes of his mother, the volatile and heartbreaking relationship between Eminem and his mum is explored as she flicks through old photo albums and unsuccessfully tries to visit him.
It's a really touching song and moving video, another A* for Eminem.

Throwback Thursday: Epic Music Debuts

Every artist has to begin somewhere in their musical career and only the lucky few start as they mean to go on - successfully. In honour of Throwback Thursday, I have taken a look back at some of music's most important debut singles from the last twenty years. Only the epic made it onto this list...

1994

Who knew that Usher was only 15 when he debuted with Can You Get Wit It and that 20 years later he would still be a superstar.

1999

This song brings back a ton of memories almost making it hard to believe that it's fifteen years old...and J-Lo has not aged at all.

2000

It's amazing how far Pink has come musically as her debut single is a far cry from the rock star we know these days. No more pink hair, no more r'n'b, the only thing that hasn't gone is her endearing attitude.

2001

I have discovered a new favourite T.I song and it happens to be his debut which features Beenie Man. It's surprising how much his music has changed and matured over the past 15 years.

This classic saw Shakira make her English debut after being a successful Latin music star for ten years already.

2005

Fresh-faced and innocent, who would have thought this Bajan pop princess would grow up to be the feisty bad girl we all know and love today.

2007

Many forget that Drake's first single and video was this little gem Replacement Girl almost seven years ago. He has definitely come along by carving his own lane in rap and proving himself to be a mighty lyricist.

2010

In only four years J.Cole has managed to establish himself as a lyricist and rapper who can compete with the best of them and it all started here.

Introducing: Snow Tha Product

This 24 year old Mexican-American rapper has been on the scene for around four years with an independent album and multiple mixtapes, but with a studio album set to be released this year Snow Tha Product could finally have her breakthrough.
She has an array of videos on Youtube such as Doing Fine, Hopeless and Gettin' It but below I have posted two of her most popular singles.

New Video : Usher

Usher has been on the quiet side musically for a while but now he is making his comeback with this new single Good Kisser. I can't say I am fan right now but I have a feeling it will catch on because of it's striking beat. I do really like the video though - simple yet entertaining and Usher's dancing is spot on as always.

New Music : Young Money Drop Double

Yesterday, three Young Money members dropped two new songs and they are pretty amazing. Lil Wayne and Drake joined forces for Believe Me and although it is catchy, the beat is a bit dry and dull - hopefully it is just a taste of things to come from Lil Wayne.

Then Nicki dropped another new song in preparation for her forthcoming album The Pinkprint due for a May release. Continuing with her intense hip-hop sound Nicki teamed up with Soulja Boy (not a choice I agree with but luckily he just shouts the same two words and has no solo verse) for Yassss Bish. Not a huge fan of Soulja Boy annoying drone of a hook but Nicki slays in the verses.
